In-patient care is a priority and includes 24-hour veterinary and nursing cover, with support from a team of emergency vets and Interns. Our hospital facilities are of the highest quality, including on-site Siemens 64-slice CT, Siemens 1.5T MRI, two in-theatre mobile image intensifiers, two digital radiography rooms, ultrasonography, electro diagnostics, video endoscopy and an extensive range of advanced surgical equipment.
Overview
The purpose of this position is to serve as a member of the practice team by coordinating stock control, ordering and restocking of the hospital. The position will manage the practice’s quarterly stocktakes as well as undertaking stock price reporting with the finance team. The post holder will also work closely with the pharmacy department to understand and minimise stock wastage. The position will assist with the hospital stocking process, utilising technology and systems to improve efficiency, compliance and operational effectiveness.
Major Goals:
* Lead and manage the practice’s stocktake process
* Manage stock price reporting
* Manage stock wastage for both consumables and medications.
* Co-ordinate the stocking process across the practice
* Manage price inflation audit
* Provide an efficient, accurate and timely service at all times.
* Demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development and actively participate in the staff appraisal system.
* Understand and implement practice policies as supplied and updated or as advised by the Head of Nursing Services.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Where appropriate create, send and manage orders for hospital supplies and equipment and where appropriate pharmaceutical products and place orders as necessary
* Assist with the sourcing of products required within the hospital
* Stock control as per practice guidelines to include management of expired products and accurate stock rotation
* Co-ordinate deliveries and help manage returns, delivery errors and items ‘on to follow’
* Co-ordinate regular restocking across the practice including consumables and medications.
* Support and provide cover for pharmacy
* Accurate record keeping of Health and Safety Data sheets for COSHH purposes, to include sourcing relevant Health and safety Data sheets for new products and informing staff of any significant information.
