Are you an enthusiastic PQE Solicitor/Legal Executive/Senior Case Handler or equivalent with an interest in Law?
Graham Coffey & Co Solicitors are looking for a candidate to fill a role in a fast-paced and growing Personal Injury Law Firm based in Manchester City Centre.
Full support will be provided, and you will benefit from the guidance and expertise of experienced Solicitors.
This is an in-house permanent position based on Portland Street, Manchester City Centre.
The main aspects of the role will involve:
Running a caseload of RTA claimant personal injury cases within the Fast Track Team
Caseload includes fast-track and portal cases, with a variety in terms of value
The caseload will be a mixture of litigated and non-litigated cases
Reviewing caseload and analyse files throughout the life of the case, in accordance with the client guidelines and firm policies
Analysis of evidence and research of legal issues including liability, causation, quantum and caselaw
Undertaking telephone negotiations with third party Solicitors
Liaising with the insured and insurers where necessary
Regular communication and occasional face to face meetings with your client
Ensuring ‘actions’ are carried out as per the task list within the Proclaim Case Management System
Accurately recording time
Accurately completing the dispute resolution process
Processing bills
The role will also involve an understanding of the court process, to include:
Drafting defences.
Completing allocation questionnaire’s
Dealing with disclosure and exchange of evidence
Completing listing questionnaire’s
Completing pre-trial checklists
Instructing Counsel
Drafting CPR Part 18 questions
Drafting CPR Part 35 questions
Requirements:
Excellent knowledge and understanding of handling claimant personal injury cases
Minimum 3 years’ experience of running personal injury cases and handling Credit Hire files through to trial is essential.
Evidence of managing own case load and/or assisting on high value cases.
Ability to follow work processes and keep to Strategy
Ability to plan and prioritise workloads
Ability to work to tight deadlines and meet targets.
Ability to recognise client confidentiality and work within GDPR guidelines
Ability to use own initiative
Ability to make decisions
Ability to remain calm under pressure
Excellent organisational and written and verbal communication skills
Good telephone negotiation skills
Good IT skills including Word, Outlook, and experience of Proclaim Case Management System preferred
