Job summary The Gastroenterology service at the Royal United Hospital Bath is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and innovative nurse to lead the Clinical specialist nursing teams within the service. You will join a highly specialised Gastroenterology Team who delivers a high standard of patient centered care. Main duties of the job The GI Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist (Lead CNS) holds a leadership role within the Trust integral to the provision of a high-quality service for patients referred to the service. The Lead CNS will be a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) within the Clinical Care group of Medicine with additional responsibility for line management and professional leadership of the GI Clinical Nurse Specialists. The post holder will participate in and oversee the provision of nursing services within the Gastroenterology services with support from the Gastro Matron and Lead consultants. The GI Lead CNS will demonstrate clinical decision-making skills and an ability to monitor and improve standards of care within the Gastro service. The post holder will influence patient care using a multi-faceted approach that includes clinical knowledge, teaching and audit. In discussion with the CNSs within the team, the post holder will equip the primary careers with the required skills and knowledge to facilitate a high standard of care to all patients from referrals and throughout their disease trajectory.
