We are currently seeking a Junior Mechanical Designer to join our team for major upstream, refinery, or petrochemical projects in both domestic and international markets. As a Junior Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for supporting Mechanical Engineering Team members, reading and understanding mechanical design drawings, and developing a basic understanding of the project scope of work. Additionally, you will collaborate with various internal teams, including Technology, Process, Engineering Design, and non-engineering disciplines such as project controls, planning, procurement, and construction. Externally, you will interact with clients, subcontractors, vendors, partners, authorities, and licensors.
Responsibilities:
1. You will work under the explicit direction of senior Mechanical Engineering Team members.
2. You will develop a basic understanding of the project scope of work and corporate policies and standards.
3. You will gather supporting documents and information to support mechanical engineering design/deliverable activities.
4. You will gain knowledge of relevant codes and standards applicable to the project and equipment requirements.
5. You will utilize 2D CAD software, such as Autocad and Microstation, for mechanical design work.
6. You will produce mechanical designs, calculations, and drawings using approved software and tools.
7. Adhere to defined CAD implementation procedures.
Requirements:
Must have:
8. Experience in a mechanical engineering design company or other industrial settings.
9. HNC or Degree in a relevant engineering subject.
10. Proficiency in using 2D CAD software – Autocad and/or Microstation.
11. Effective communication skills, including tactfulness and articulation.
12. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
13. Experience in design tools such as Microstation & Autocad in the production of 2D drawings.
Nice to have:
14. Membership of an appropriate engineering institution.
15. Experience in the production of 3D models.
16. Site experience.
17. UK project experience.
