Pay rate: $22-24 depending on experience and qualifications
General Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Training and Community Engagement and in conformance with the personnel policies and procedures set forth by the Board of Directors, the Community-Based Program Coordinator will support the implementation of community-based alternative dispute resolution (ADR) programs, including youth programs, school-based programs, community and workplace trainings, and programs to support participants referred from the criminal justice system.
Essential Job Functions
* Respond to requests for community-based services from agencies as well as walk-in clients;
* Manage a caseload and participate in required tasks to support the Custody and Visitation Mediation program;
* Maintain clear documentation on all cases including but not limited to opening and closing case files; maintaining the CaseLoad Manager (CLM) database, completing statistical information; and reviewing files for completeness at the conclusion of sessions;
* Maintain case files with accurate and highly confidential record keeping;
* Conduct intakes, schedule mediations, prepare required documentation, and communicate efficiently with parties and referral sources;
* Review agreements and awards, and suggest appropriate human service agencies to provide any recommended follow-up support services;
* Maintain an annual caseload;
* Answer phone and website inquiries regarding community-based ADR programs;
* Coordinate implementation of contractual programming, including preparing required paperwork and documentation of services;
* Provide community-based alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services including but not limited to conflict coaching, restorative practices, and community mediation;
* Coordinate and deliver training and technical support for schools, workplaces, youth programs, and agencies;
* Obtain and maintain Center for Dispute Settlement mediator certification;
* Participate in community outreach, marketing, and public relations;
* Assist in the preparation/submittal of required reports;
* Participate in staff meetings, retreats, events, and activities.
Qualifications
* Embodies principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB);
* Bilingual in English/Spanish is highly preferred;
* Experience working directly with youth;
* Experience facilitating trainings;
* Initiative, tact, honesty, integrity and a commitment to peaceful conflict resolution processes;
* Ability to work effectively with clients in various stages of conflict;
* Proven ability to exercise confidentiality;
* Ability to make referrals to other human service agencies;
* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;
* Strong organizational and time management skills;
* Must be able to complete training and apprenticeship to become a certified mediator;
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic computer technology.
Education
* Graduation from a recognized College or University with an Associate’s Degree plus three (3) years of relevant work experience, or any combination of work experience and education sufficient to indicate ability to perform the job.
