About the Role
The Communications Manager will play a pivotal role in developing and executing communication strategies that amplify the impact of Salix’s programmes, such as the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS), Low Carbon Skills Fund (LCSF), and our housing and devolved government initiatives.
This is an exciting and fast-paced role requiring collaboration across departments and partnerships, with a focus on crafting compelling stories, engaging stakeholders, and maintaining Salix’s strong public presence.
What You’ll Do
1. Strategic Communications: Develop and deliver communication plans for key programmes, ensuring clear and impactful messaging.
2. Storytelling Expertise: Identify opportunities to share impactful stories, writing engaging content for internal and external audiences.
3. Media Relations: Handle proactive and reactive media interactions, write press releases, pitch stories, and secure positive media coverage.
4. Content Creation: Manage social media channels, produce engaging website content, and create videos and presentations.
5. Campaigns and Events: Organise events, support audience outreach, and manage surveys and feedback to inform strategies.
6. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and nurture relationships with partners, stakeholders, and clients to promote collaboration and amplify collective impact.
7. SEO and Analytics: Contribute to improving Salix’s digital presence, including monitoring website performance and optimising content for search engines.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is proactive and collaborative, with a talent for clear and concise communication. You’ll thrive in a busy environment and have the following experience and skills:
1. A strong understanding of media relations and a knack for spotting a good story.
2. Excellent writing skills, capable of tailoring messages for diverse audiences and channels.
3. The ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging, and accessible material.
4. Proficiency with social media platforms and content-creation tools.
5. A proven track record in developing and implementing communication strategies.
6. Strong interpersonal skills, capable of providing confident and diplomatic advice to colleagues.
