Role Overview:
St Michaels Resort is seeking an experienced, creative, and inspirational Marketing Director with a passion for storytelling and building a meaningful lifestyle brand. This pivotal role will develop and execute the brand strategy to elevate the resort's market position, shaping every aspect of its brand identity and defining its spirit. The Marketing Director will manage the promotion and positioning of the resort, overseeing content creation, publication, and distribution across all channels to support sales, marketing, and operational activities.
As the creative lead and brand champion, the Marketing Director will lead all marketing, partnerships, and guest experience activities, collaborating closely with the operating, sales, and revenue teams to develop innovative marketing strategies. This role will curate digital, PR, and marketing content to ensure the resort's stories reach the right audiences at the right time. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in brand management and a proven track record of driving brand growth, ideally within the hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership & Management:
* Represent marketing at the board level, providing strategic input on the resort’s growth plans and business strategy.
* Develop and execute creative go-to-market strategies and brand-led growth plans to elevate the resort's market presence.
* Oversee all aspects of marketing, including Brand Marketing, Creative, Product, and Digital/E-commerce, ensuring alignment with the company's objectives and values.
* Lead the development and execution of comprehensive marketing and brand strategies targeting St Michaels' audience.
* Champion brand consistency and integrity across all communication channels.
* Promote the resort professionally, including organizing and attending client events and networking.
* Stay current with competitors, marketing trends, innovations, communication techniques, and media regulations.
* Project manage marketing initiatives, articulating project scope, objectives, deadlines, and contingency plans.
* Monitor and operate within the yearly budget, ensuring cost-effective marketing activities.
* Stay updated with industry trends, innovations, and technology to ensure competitiveness, compliance and market lead.
* Lead and manage the marketing team, fostering professional growth and meeting targets.
* Champion the resort's culture and values, creating an inspiring environment that drives ambition and authenticity.
1. Storytelling and Brand Communications:
* Ensure a strong, unified brand story is clearly articulated across different audiences, leveraging the resort’s market track record to build its presence and reputation.
* Lead the team in monitoring and evaluating performance, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
* Execute annual communications plans, enhancing guest experience and recruiting new audiences through product development.
* Provide a framework to deliver consistent, purpose-driven content and physical brand touchpoints; deliver brand communication and content strategy plans for the year.
* Manage the production of print and digital campaign content, coordinating with key stakeholders and departments.
* Continually analyse and develop the website to increase traffic, engagement, conversions, and sales.
* Manage and review all digital advertising campaigns, including PPC, Display, Retargeting, Meta, and Paid Social.
* Drive the creation of effective collateral for print and digital use, from concept to final product.
* Plan and deliver persuasive and creative marketing campaigns across all channels.
* Manage and brief in-house designers and work with design agencies for larger projects.
* Coordinate with printers and mail houses, ensuring brand consistency across all materials.
* Establish the resort brand on the national stage with the PR agency.
* Assist in developing, coordinating, and executing all PR, marketing, and communications activities.
* Liaise with the PR agency, media relations, advertising bodies, and other promoters.
* Develop partnerships with local businesses to create new products and packages and drive local PR campaigns.
* Define and champion all aspects of brand identity across the resort. Working across departments to ensure every detail the guest experience and journey bring our brand promise to life.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
* Minimum of 10 years in a senior marketing role, preferably within the hospitality or service sector.
* Proven success in developing and executing marketing strategies that drive revenue growth.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including SEO, PPC, email marketing, and social media.
* Creative thinker with strong analytical skills, able to translate insights into actionable strategies.
* Passion for the hospitality industry and a deep understanding of luxury branding.
