Job Description
Looking for a hard-working, capable full-time bike mechanic to join our Penrith team and join a market leading cycling tour operator.
Responsibilities
1. Servicing of bikes and e-bikes to the expected Skedaddle standard
2. Assisting with upkeep, cleanliness and organisation of workshop and bike storage areas
3. Writing clear, accurate, thorough bike service records
4. Assisting with ordering parts, supplies and equipment
5. Contributing to longevity of bikes and equipment with best practice around mechanics, having an eye for detail, and planning ahead
6. Assisting with the upkeep of other Skedaddle resources including vans, trailers, equipment including trip kits - purchasing, repairs, maintenance, inventory
7. Coordinating resources with operations team including use of resource management system
8. Assisting with general operations and logistics work and odd jobs as necessary
9. Promoting H&S and best practices on site
10. Contributing to Skedaddle best practices and projects as necessary
Qualifications & Profile
1. Trustworthy and responsible
2. Well organised, capable at multi-tasking, requires little supervision but also works well in a team
3. Sound communicator and personable
4. Experience and/or qualifications in bike mechanics equivalent to Cytech Level 2
5. Hands-on person, mechanically minded, who takes initiative and can problem solve
6. Good knowledge of bikes and bike maintenance, willingness to continually learn and improve
7. Works well and calmly under pressure and ability to cope with the unexpected day to day
8. Keen cyclist with an interest in travel
9. Full clean UK driving licence
