Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst - 12 month FTC
Role overview:
Reporting to Head of Commercial Finance & Reporting, the FP&A Analyst plays a critical role within the organisation acting as a dedicated finance business partner to key business stakeholders.
An exciting opportunity requiring a candidate with strong commercial awareness. The candidate will be expected to work cross-functionally partnering with Sales to support with new/existing business opportunities by providing insights, appraising viability of business proposals, and refining commercial toolkits for new concepts. The candidate will have the opportunity to streamline existing processes and build governance around existing processes. A great opportunity for growth and development in the Commercial Finance world which is integral to all successful businesses.
Main Responsibilities include:
1. Producing routine business Scorecards/Reports in a timely manner for various stakeholders. Providing summaries and reasoning for trends and business performance.
2. Tracking revenue/cost performance vs comparators and highlighting key variances with summary of drivers (Specific customers not ordering etc).
3. Provide insights on wins/losses throughputs and Solution performance.
4. Business partnering with key stakeholders building forecasts/budgets and driving efficiency.
5. Analysing impact of new product innovations, analyse financial implication (volume, sales & margin).
6. Partnering with Marketing and Sales analysing performance of new product launches.
7. Supporting the creation of Business Charters (NPD); ensuring accurate financials are created.
8. Support the Commercial Finance Manager in the budgeting and forecasting process for sales and costs.
9. Provide ad-hoc analysis/support as required for the wider demand function.
10. Support in the S&OP process, Forecast consolidation and accuracy.
11. Build great business partnering relationships with the management team for your business area, being a trusted advisor and being able to both challenge and support.
12. Delivering best in class analysis, reporting, insight and financial mentorship.
13. Delivery detailed analysis and recommendations for commercial deals, business decisions, and investment appraisals/business cases.
14. Deliver accurate financial planning deliverables, including budgeting, rolling forecasts, and strategic long-range plans.
15. Interpretation, and driving actions off the back of monthly results, working with our management Accounts Team.
16. Manage risks and opportunities for your business area, ensuring ‘no surprises’.
Qualifications required:
1. University Degree qualified.
2. Ideally qualified or Part Qualified accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA or studying towards a financial qualification.
Experience is required in:
1. SAP is preferable.
2. Experience in Analysis and Management accounts.
3. Experience in Business Partnering.
4. A track record of delivery and ambition in your career so far and a desire to develop.
5. Strong Excel Skills and MS Suite skills.
The successful candidate will be required to complete and satisfy a DBS check. All applicants should be UK based due to the interview process.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
