This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly specialist, multi-disciplinary team providing diagnostic assessments, reassessment of needs and post-diagnostic support for adults with suspected/diagnosed Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). We are looking to expand our ADHD pathway to address the increase in demand for ADHD assessments. Our team are passionate about delivering person-centered, strengths-based assessments for neurodivergent individuals. We pride ourselves on being a supportive and inclusive team, including staff with lived-experience of autism and ADHD.
We would welcome applications from Registered Mental Health Nurses with live NMC Registration and specialist knowledge and experience of working with ADHD. Skills and experience in carrying out mental and physical health assessments are required and experience and training in ADHD assessments is desirable.
SAANS is a well-established service and has been providing diagnostic assessments for both Sheffield and National residents for over 10 years. We are situated in the leafy suburb of Nether Edge, with free on-site parking and within walking distance of bus services. While the role will be primarily clinic based, we do offer opportunities for flexible/remote working with options for online assessments in some cases.
Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities of the postholder will be to conduct specialist ADHD diagnostic assessments and review of needs appointments for ADHD under the supervision of more senior staff. A standard diagnostic assessment involves a one-off appointment of up to 3 hours, with the option of MDT discussion and further appointments in complex cases. The post-holder must therefore be able to work autonomously and have excellent communication, time management and organisation skills to ensure diagnostic reports are prepared to a high standard and in a timely manner following assessment.
There may also be opportunities in this role to develop and deliver non-medical interventions such as group work. The post holder will contribute to the ongoing development of services provided and work as an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team, maintaining high standards of care.

* The post holder will be responsible for ensuring high quality, accurate and timely recording on Trust electronic systems, of clinical information such as assessment, formulations, progress notes, care plans, risk assessments, outcomes, and discharge.
* The post holder will be responsible for making recommendations to the wider team and to referrers on additional assessment or interventions and skills required to deliver the plan of care and expected health/social outcomes which are evidenced based and lead to recovery and minimise risk.
* The post holder will be responsible for devising a management plan with each individual service user.
* Promote the involvement and engagement of clients/services users and carer relatives in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care.
* Work within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure effective care plans and treatments are in place for highly complex clients/services users.
