About the Role We need a strong team player to assist the Street Works Team in operating the London Permit Scheme. You will be working as a member of the Street Works Team to assess and coordinate permits on the highway within the Borough, and this will involve working closely with Street Works Inspectors and Highway Area Teams to ensure the best possible service to all highway users. The work is varied and interesting, and involves taking pride and ownership of one third of the Borough for the coordination and administration of the London Permit Scheme including; assessment of permit applications, electronic administration of comments, inspections, defects and associated charges, identify and seek resolution of inaccuracies in data and work closely with a Street Works Inspector to ensure that all aspects of relevant legislation are met. An understanding of the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA), the London Permit Scheme (LoPS) and the Traffic Management Act would be a definite advantage. Experience in coordination or an operational technical support environment is desirable, although training will be provided. You will be required to show initiative and work on your own as well as part of a team.
