The Role: You'll be joining a dedicated Earthing Engineering team, working on a range of impactful projects across Multi-Utility, EHV, EV Charging, Renewables, BESS, and Substation sectors. Responsibilities include the full project lifecycle from tender to design sign-off, with the support of a multidisciplinary team including Electrical, Protection, Civil, and Contractor specialists. Key responsibilities include: Leading or contributing to the design of above and below ground earthing systems. Performing and reviewing earthing calculations and simulations using software such as CDEGS. Ensuring compliance with relevant UK regulations and industry standards. Mentoring junior staff and supporting cross-disciplinary collaboration. Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery. Note: The role is primarily office or home-based. Occasional site support may be required, but it is not a routine part of the role. What We're Looking For: You may be a seasoned Earthing Design Engineer or someone with a strong background in Lightning Protection Design who is looking to pivot into this growing field. Essential Skills & Experience: Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical background. Proficient in CDEGS and relevant modules (MALZ, HIFREQ, etc.). Familiar with UK earthing standards, regulations, and DNO policies. Competent with AutoCAD and project delivery tools. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Desirable: Experience with Lightning Risk Assessments and Lightning Protection Systems. Familiarity with other modeling software (e.g., XGSLab, EMTP-ATP). On-site experience in soil resistivity testing or compliance surveys.
