About the role:
A day centre in Birmingham for adults and young people who have learning and physical disabilities is on the lookout for Support Workers to join their team on a temporary basis. This is a Monday to Friday long-term role where you will be caring for and supporting adults with their personal needs. Responsibilities include escorting the service users on the mini bus in the AM and PM, assisting with eating, drinking, and going to the toilet. A main part of the role includes providing companionship to the service users as well as a passion for arranging and participating in fun activities! You will work 36.5 hours a week, starting at 8:30am and finishing at 4:00pm with your weekends free! The end date for this role is the 31st March with a possibility of extending.
Criteria:
1. At least 6 months experience in a Social Care role, preferably with individuals who have autism
2. NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care is desirable
3. Enhanced DBS with adult's barred list (Hays can request a new DBS)
4. Excellent time management
5. Moving and handling training
6. A passion for caring for individuals and making an impact on people's lives
