The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Security Engineer to join a growing team in either Manchester or London. Our security engineering team includes experienced professionals with expertise across various sectors, working on prestigious projects to deliver security strategies and technical designs aligned with the RIBA plan of works.
Your Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assisting with client and stakeholder engagement to define project security requirements.
2. Developing threat and risk assessments, identifying associated security operational needs that support the creation of technical security designs.
3. Designing physical and electronic security solutions in line with approved security strategies, including the production of technical specifications, engineering drawings, and stage-specific reports.
4. Setting up and managing job/project administrative systems, including planning and monitoring job resourcing and expenditure, adjusting them as necessary.
5. Coordinating with broader design teams to integrate security requirements into project plans.
6. Attending client meetings as a member of the delivery team.
7. Actively contributing to the security engineering team to develop approaches for project delivery, fostering team growth and supporting continued development.
You Will Have the Following Qualifications & Experience
1. A 2.1 degree (or equivalent) in engineering (a master's degree or other relevant postgraduate qualification is advantageous).
2. Proficient in engineering drawing and modelling tools, including CAD and REVIT.
3. Familiarity with the RIBA Plan of Work.
4. Previous experience in a role within the built environment is desirable.
5. A technical understanding of electronic security systems is preferred.
6. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
8. Ability to collaborate effectively in a team as well as work independently.
9. Must be able to meet the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) before appointment and undergo National Security Vetting at a minimum of SC level upon appointment.
