Job Summary
Village Health Group (VHG) is a large multi-site GP Practice in Rushcliffe, South Nottinghamshire. The 4 sites are located at Keyworth, East Leake, Ruddington & Sutton Bonington.
There is an exciting opportunity to join the VHG Group as it goes through a period of change and restructure and a chance to enjoy a vibrant and forward-thinking primary care team, working closely with all colleagues in the VHG team.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit full/part time Receptionist positions. Applicants must be organised and self-sufficient, with the ability to greet patients and answer telephones in a confident, professional and courteous manner, direct calls, take messages, and provide a first class service to patients of the practice.
Administration experience in a fast-paced environment is essential, with the ability to think on your feet and demonstrate a pro-active approach to problem solving. The successful candidates will also need to be able to travel to any of the 4 sites as required, so a driving licence and access to transport will be essential.
About Us
A background in a related administrative role would be useful but is not essential, but a desire to learn is a must. The successful candidates will need to have a flexible approach and be able to work in a busy team at any of the 4 sites as required. Providing cover during busy periods and sickness is essential for this role.

Job Description
Job Title: Receptionist
Responsible To: Reception Manager
Responsible For: N/A
Job Purpose: To ensure that the reception area of the Practice runs smoothly, provides a high level of service to patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the Practice team.
Duties And Responsibilities:
1. Telephone Duties:
o Making appointments
o Taking requests for prescriptions from housebound patients
o Giving out results
o Ambulance transport bookings for on the day service
o Home visit requests
o Deal with general enquiries and complaints
o Contacting other providers
2. Reception Duties:
o Register new patients and temporary residents, when required
o Greet and direct patients and visitors
o Making appointments
o Handing out prescriptions
o Ensure outstanding queries are explained and handed over to the next shift, as necessary
o Respond to needs of doctors and nurses during surgery
o Collect payments from patients for non-NHS services
o Deal with general enquiries and complaints
3. Filing:
o Filing and retrieving paperwork as requested (e.g. Lloyd George envelopes)
4. Prescriptions:
o Dealing with requests for repeat prescriptions
o Raising prescriptions as per Practice protocols
o Dealing with queries relating to prescriptions
5. General:
o Input and extract information from Practice computer system
o Observe health and safety guidelines at all times
o General housekeeping (e.g. keeping reception and waiting areas tidy)
o Any other reasonable duties as necessary
o Observe Confidentiality policy and guidelines at all times
o Opening up / locking up of practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with practice protocols
o Have an overview of admin tasks (e.g. cytology admin, recalls)
