Job Reference: 2860
Job Title: Channel Development Director
Salary Range: Up to £125,000, on target earnings (at £125,000) will be £225,000. Commission is paid monthly and earnings are totally uncapped.
Location: UK
Description:
Our client, a specialist well-established IT financier with a near-unique proposition, is hiring for the newly created role of Channel Development Director.
You will report to the Head of Sales. Your role is to identify, target, negotiate, document, launch, and manage new strategic partnerships with IT vendor partners.
These partners will be VARs or systems integrators who sell IT hardware, laptops, desktops, tablets, etc., to customers directly. You will be expected to deliver a first-year volume of £10m.
We feel that this is an achievable number given our client's highly competitive offering, which includes:
1. Own book RV’s investments in all leading IT hardware platforms
2. The ability to fund hardware, software, services, commissioning, etc.
3. The ability to syndicate debt across a plethora of funding partners enabling very high acceptance rates to be provided to partners' sales staff
4. Undisclosed assignment of receivables documentation making for a simple customer experience
5. Portal-based proposal submission of deals from partners to ease and speed processing of deals
6. Strong SLAs to provide fast deal turnaround and payout of business
7. The ability to fund deals right down to £25,000
Candidate Profile:
To apply for this position, you must have at least 5 years of experience operating at C-level or equivalent working with channel partners in the IT finance sector.
Our client's ideal location is for applicants based in the UK South, but if you are based in the Midlands or North of the UK and are willing to travel extensively, do apply.
The strongest applicants will demonstrate experience in winning new channel relationships and have evidence to support their success. Those with a record of inheriting IT relationships and growing finance volumes and finance penetration levels will be actively considered, provided you have the aptitude and ability to win new business.
If the above describes you, let's talk about your strategy to win new business. How comfortable are you cold calling the Sales Director of a £200m a year IT reseller after networking via LinkedIn or your network to deliver your 30-second elevator pitch? What is your experience of door opening?
It’s expected that you will have broad commercial skills and a deep understanding of leasing at this level and of the most modern IT finance solutions, whether that is DAAS, AAS, or subscription models, along with decent experience in pricing, credit, and deal structuring.
Beyond the above, we seek applications from those who want to go on a journey with our client and desire more than just a highly paid job.
We can see a line of sight to this role developing into a leadership position where, once you have won and built a programme to £10m a year, you will be mandated to hire account managers to support this and lead them if you wish.
In time, a successful Channel Development Director could be the natural successor to the Head of Sales you report to.
In short, this is one of the best opportunities we have seen for a self-managing new business hunter to earn potentially > £300,000 a year in a self-managing meritocracy where high performance is not only well rewarded but actively lauded.
Does this sound like a refreshing environment to work in?
