Adult Services (Learning Disability and Autism) provide a range of high quality care and support for adults with learning disability, autistic adults and adults with complex needs with assessed need. Adult Services (LD & ASD) comprises of Supported Living and Outreach Service; Supported Vocational Activity Service (Eric Gray @ Seafield); Short Breaks and Respite Service (Newcraigielea), the Assertive Community Transition (ACT) Service (intensive support) all of which are Care Inspectorate registered services and part of Shetland Community Health and Social Care Directorate.
Adult Services (LD and ASD) use a range of best practice guidance and person centred approaches to provide support that recognises the rights of the individual to participate as meaningfully and as independently as possible.
The Senior Social Care Worker – Supervisor’s role includes ensuring that individuals receive high standards of care and support in accordance with relevant legislation and national guidance associated with the service
Senior Social Care Worker - Supervisors are responsible for providing support to individuals in a variety of settings, dependent on the post, ensuring a high standard of service delivery of support to individuals to live well through their own strengths, skills, community, personal gifts and people who play a key role in their life.
The purpose of the job is to assist with all tasks associated with managing, delivery and development of the service including the supervision, coaching and development of staff, and to actively participate in the provision and facilitation of person-centred planning to support outcomes. This will include ensuring that the service is providing for the health and wellbeing of individuals who use the service, and a positive ethos that promotes the individual’s independence within their personal capabilities.

2. Salary shown in the advert is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £2, per annum (pro rata)
3. Temporary Full Time post for 37.0 Hours per Week, 52.18 weeks per year
4. Temporary contract for a period of approximately 12 months. This is for the duration of a period of family leave, and will terminate following the return to work or resignation of the postholder
