Reporting into the Praetorian Programme Manager for Test Equipment, Support & Cooling Integrated Project Teams (IPT)
The opportunity:
We have a great opportunities in Project Management for Management of a number of Major Development and Production Programmes within the Praetorian Programmes Business Area.
The Praetorian IPTs include some very high value customer contracts over a number of years, which means it is a highly visible and exciting role within the business area and line of business, and plays an important part in contributing to our business success.
What you will do as a Lead Project Manager:
Responsibilities for these Project Managers will include:
1. Project Management (circa £40m Development & Multi Million Production programmes)
2. Managing the relationships with multiple stakeholders in the UK, Europe, Middle East and Internal business departments
3. Ensuring the project strategies remain aligned with the overall programme strategy
4. Managing of outsourcing and internal development projects
5. Production estimates – in conjunction with relevant functions
6. Generation and presentation of multiple metric reports to the Purchaser at monthly reviews
7. Generating a SAP monthly CSR and presenting to the business
8. Ensuring accurate estimates for proposed work are provided and that sufficient contingency is applied
9. Ownership of the Project budget, monitoring the expenditures and costs throughout the financial year

11. Point of contact for the Purchaser, Customer and Workshare Partners

Qualification/Experience
19. Degree or equivalent
20. APM PMQ qualified or equivalent is highly desirable
21. Excellent understanding of financial controls and Project Financial management
22. Systems/Engineering experience desirable for Development Role
Essential Skills
23. Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplined teams (Including, but not limited to - Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Planning, Manufacturing and Operations) but also ability to organise and prioritise workload and to work autonomously
24. Project Management technical insight for Development role
25. Ability to prioritise a large quantity of tasks and to assign these effectively and work to a deadline
26. Project Management, including the ability to manage key internal and external stakeholders, create project plans, and manage these effectively alongside scheduling and earned value
27. Demonstrated strong Customer and Stakeholder relationship skills
28. Strong evidence in being able to collaborate with a wide group of internal and external stakeholders / functions
29. A pro-active with a "can do" attitude, striving for continuous improvement, effectiveness and efficiency and with a focus on achieving high performance against objectives
Desirable Skills
30. Excellent computer literacy, including all Microsoft Office applications with experience managing projects in SAP & P6
31. Strong organisational skills
32. Excellent problem solving skills and initiative
Desirable Knowledge and Competencies
33. Knowledge of Praetorian products and groups for the Development Role
34. Experience of working with BAES, European Partners and UK MoD
35. Excellent written and oral communication skills
