A well-respected main contractor with a turnover of circa £850m and a strong presence across Ireland, the UK, and mainland Europe across sectors requires a mechanical project engineer to work on a notable £350m data centre in Newport, Wales.
Reporting to a mechanical lead, you will take control of a number of complex packages across the scheme with a technical and management overview of a number of complex mechanical packages, with a particular focus on the sprinkler and flues packages.
Duties for the Mechanical Project Engineer position
1. Lead project scheduling and budgeting to successfully complete projects within targets.
2. Analyse problems and provide solutions.
3. Review drawings and give input.
4. Revise design.
5. Assist the Mechanical Project Manager.
6. Calculate budgets and timelines.
7. Meet compliance regulations.
8. Collaborate with the engineering team to complete projects.
9. Conduct quality assurance.
10. Program and commission with other contractors.
11. Manage sub-subcontractors.
12. Resolve technical issues promptly, ensuring smooth project execution.
13. Attend supply chain meetings.
14. Prepare and review risk assessments, method statements, and monitor health and safety onsite.
15. Conduct quality assurance checks and maintain up-to-date records.
