We are currently looking to appoint a passionate Deputy Nursery Manager at Muddy Boots Day Nursery in Langley. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to join our amazing nursery team based in our 90 place Day Nursery in Langley, Berkshire. We are open 51 weeks of the year from 7.30am to 6.00pm and provide childcare for children aged from 3 months to 5 years.
As Deputy Nursery Manager you will be influential in the growth of the nursery, building foundations of our setting. Working alongside the Nursery Manager and Nursery Director you will be responsible for the development and growth of staff as well as demonstrating excellent childcare practices. You will be heavily involved in and work the rooms, as well as support the day to day running of the nursery, training and development of staff as directed. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining and providing high quality of care and education for each and every child. Working with an engaging team enables professional and nurturing bonds with our families where the children are at the centre of all that we do.
Leading a successful team will mean you will take responsibility for the delivery of educational programmes in the setting as we continue to build and develop. We want the best for the children in our care and are looking for people who can work as valued team members.
The role.....
* Building professional and caring relationships with children, families, the team, and within the local community
* Leading and supporting your team to be the best childcare educators through your guidance, passion, and drive
* Communicating with your team and families through regular updates and supporting staff with parental engagement.
* Welcoming new employees and new children into the nursery and implementing support plans.
* Ensuring the setting is well-staffed and has the necessary provisions to provide high-quality, educational childcare for the children
* Evaluating the performance and practice in the setting and being able to develop and implement plans to deliver improvements on a continuous basis
* Monitoring the children's learning and development and overseeing the reports with staff members and with parents.
* Advising Room Leaders on initiatives and actively developing their skills while being a responsible and supportive role model.
You will need…
* Full and relevant L3 or above Early Years qualification (essential)
* Experience within an Early Years leadership role (ideally as a Deputy Manager, Assistant Manager, Third in Charge, or similar).
* Experience of participating in a regulatory inspection, leading to a “Good” or “Outstanding” outcome
* Confident decision maker, with previous experience providing support and leadership to others to enable staff in fulfilling their roles and responsibilities
* Possess strong time management and organisational skills and be able to delegate effectively.
* Excellent knowledge of 'Birth to 5 Matters', typical child development stages, and sound understanding of the EYFS.
* Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children
* Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with both colleagues and parents. Be able to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults
You must be motivated, well-organised, and have the ability to enable the development of high-quality nursery practice. You will be a role model to staff and children, have an empathetic and caring manner, balanced with a professional approach.
