Polar Speed, a UPS Company, is a logistics company and innovative provider of temperature sensitive transportation and pharmaceutical supply chain solutions in the UK. Due to expansion, we now require a Class 2 HGV Driver Nights for our busy Huthwaite depot.
CLASS 2 HGV DRIVER NIGHTS
BASED: UPS Polar Speed Distribution Ltd, Nunn Brook Road, Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire, NG17 2HU
SALARY: £37,344.90 (48 hours) £14.96 per hour, - Night allowance is also applicable at an additional £14.75 per night - £3835.00 per annum - Overnight stay allowance based on at least 2 nights a week which is an additional £22 per overnight stay
HOURS: Monday to Friday - Start time between 0000-0400 Hours
As a Class 2 HGV driver, you’ll make collections and deliveries of pharmaceutical consignments to/from pharmaceutical distribution centres and Polar Speed depots, where for some drops you will assist with the loading and unloading.
You’ll work a minimum of 48 hours per week and must be flexible and prepared to work additional hours as and when required to meet our service requirements, which may be of an urgent medical nature.

Key responsibilities:
1. Check and scan all consignments
2. Assist with the loading/unloading of deliveries
3. Complete daily safety checks of vehicle and refrigeration unit
4. Deliver consignments on an accurate and timely basis ensuring products stay within the required temperature range
5. Ensure that records of deliveries are electronically captured and driver manifests are completed
6. Maintain daily communications to provide service updates
7. Demonstrate professional and safe driving competency at all times
8. Present a smart working appearance at all times
Key Skills/Experience:
1. A minimum of 2 years’ driving experience
2. Must hold a C category driving licence (ideally no more than 3 points)
3. Previous relevant experience advantageous
4. Excellent communication and customer service skills
5. Ability to build effective working relationships with customers/clients, whilst appreciating the need for maintaining confidentiality
6. Good organisation skills with the ability to prioritise
7. Good team player and able to work on your initiative
