About the role
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and competent individual to work as part of a busy Estates Team who are responsible for operating a number of campuses across the North East region. The Estates Team Leader will support the Head of Estates in the day to day management and operation of the college estate.
Responsibilities will include assisting in operating a proactive and customer focussed team, ensuring college buildings and facilities remain available, fit for purpose and safe to use.
About the Candidate
We are looking for an experienced and proactive individual with the skills and leadership qualities necessary to ensure the availability and smooth running of each college site on a daily basis. You will be flexible, customer-focused, and confident in managing and supporting a team while being prepared for occasional travel between sites to oversee operations and provide support where needed.
As a hardworking and driven leader, you should be a ‘self-starter’ with excellent organisational, mechanical, and interpersonal skills. You must be capable of multitasking, prioritising workloads, and working to deadlines, often within a hands-on environment that includes manual handling, working at heights, and supervising contract staff.
The successful candidate will be able to work effectively both as an individual and as part of a team, with the ability to motivate and guide others. A current driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle is essential.

Northumberland College is the only college in the county serving, the communities of Northumberland, offering a diverse curriculum from Entry level to Level 6, discrete SEND provision and Apprenticeships.
We have three campuses based in Berwick, Ashington, and Kirkley Hall, and in October 2024 we achieved an Outstanding rating from Ofsted, in addition to being the top Performing Land based College in the Northeast.
Over recent years, the College has invested over £14million in new facilities at its sites, including a £2.5 million STEM Centre at its Ashington campus which is set to become the first pathfinder Gen zero FE College in the UK in 2025/2026
