The Recruitment Bunker are recruiting exclusively for an MP&L Supervisor for a leading automotive group of companies based in Coventry.
The MP&L Supervisor is responsible for managing and optimising all materials, planning, and logistics activities within the facility for full vehicle production, to ensure the efficient and economical movement of materials in and out of the facility. This role ensures alignment of the Bill of Materials (BOM) with production and design requirements and manages the communication of production schedules and forecasts. The MP&L Supervisor will also train and support team members, participate in cost reduction initiatives, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the supply chain.

Salary - £40,000 - £50,000 DOE

Responsibilities
1. Process Improvement: Implement, review, and continuously improve processes related to all MP&L activities, ensuring the most efficient and cost-effective movement of materials in and out of the plant.
2. BOM Management: Ensure that the Bill of Materials (BOM) is aligned with production methods and design releases, facilitating effective control over inventory planning and management.
3. Packaging & Logistics Strategy: Lead the development and execution of the packaging and logistics strategy, ensuring the efficient flow of materials and minimizing waste and inefficiencies.
4. Supplier Communication: Ensure that suppliers receive accurate schedules and forecasts with appropriate lead times, fostering strong supplier relationships and ensuring timely material deliveries.
5. Team Training & Support: Train and support the MP&L coordinators and inventory control teams in using company systems, processes, and best practices to drive efficiency and accuracy.
6. Cost Reduction: Actively participate in and drive cost reduction activities across the department, ensuring the team operates as efficiently as possible while maintaining high standards of service and performance.
7. Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the key liaison between plants, sales teams, warehouses, and suppliers, ensuring clear communication and alignment across all supply chain functions.
8. Inventory & Delivery Analysis: Analyse and evaluate issues related to inventory levels and delivery schedules, recommending and implementing solutions to optimize performance.
9. Cost Tracking & Reporting: Track and manage material costs related to inventory levels, cash flow, budgets, and new programs. Generate internal reports to monitor performance and costs related to inventory, transportation, and cost savings.
10. Customs & Freight Management: Manage customs clearance and freight forwarding activities as required, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and timely delivery of goods.

1. Proven ability of working as an MP&L Manager within an Automotive / Manufacturing environment.
2. Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development.
3. Confidence in communication, with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
4. Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders, customers and external providers.
5. Commercially and financially astute with experience of managing budgets.
6. Proven analytical, problem solving and organisational skills.
7. Results orientated with the ability to plan and prioritise multiple projects of self and others and to deliver against objectives and deadlines.
8. Project Management skills.
9. Excellent attention to detail mindset.
10. An understanding of industry and regulatory requirements such Quality System Regulations (IATF16949, ISO9001, 5S, TPM, KPI’s).
