Manager - Global Compliance & Transformation - Data & Technology

1. BEPs: Help clients transform their operating model, processes, systems, data in preparation for Pillar 2
2. Managed Services: Provide compliance services to global clients across a range of tax, accounting, transfer pricing obligations under a managed service arrangement
3. Technology: H elp clients leverage the right technology, tools and platforms to transform their tax function
4. Tax Operating Model: Collaborate with clients to build and operate a leading tax function, managing tax risk, opportunities, reputation and compliance
5. Data Management: Support client tax teams to maximise the use of data available in the organisation in order to effectively manage the Tax Function
Data & Technology
We are looking for experienced Tax Transformation Managers with the ability to analyse tax requirements, design tax processes and implement tax technology solutions. You will have experience in one or more of the following areas, Technology Transformation (ERP), General Transformation and Tax Provision Technology.
Role & Responsibilities:
At Manager level you will:
6. Project manage the overall delivery of global and large tax transformation and technology projects, often as part of a wider finance transformation programme, bringing in wider team as needed
7. Understand client priorities and help design, build and deploy ERP and tax automation solutions which are designed for Tax
8. Support our clients to understand the importance of Tax, the optimal way to address tax requirements in their countries and the value that it can bring
9. Support clients tax users with user acceptance testing and change management
10. Work together with our other Tax Transformation colleagues as well as other groups in KPMG such as Consulting
11. Help clients develop robust global governance and process frameworks
12. Develop our service offerings and service delivery models
13. Establish and maintain strong client relationships with both existing and new clients
14. Have excellent interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication skills
15. Take personal responsibility and accountability for own work, sustain high levels of drive and enthusiasm
16. Line manage assistant managers and graduate trainees and overseeing output of offshore resource in order to deliver client projects
17. Identify opportunities to identify additional services that the client may need and liaise with subject specialists
18. Coach and provide technical support for other team members.

Knowledge and Experience:
You will have strong communication skills both internally and externally, drive forward propositions and key initiatives, effectively prioritise and have strong financial management. You will demonstrate resilience, flexibility, be experienced in developing others and managing engagements, be able to confidently engage with clients and drive results.

20. Hands-on experience of working in SAP finance and controlling modules
21. Strong and practical ERP finance and tax experience of configuring SAP S4 HANA,
22. Experience of integrating VAT determination engines and bolt-ons
23. Knowledge of implementing tax determination tools such as Vertex O-Series, Thomson Reuters OneSource Determination, or Meridian VAT Add-On
24. Hands-on tax technology implementation experience, including requirements gathering from a tax, IT and users and creating and reviewing design documentation
25. Awareness of technology and automation to drive efficiency, risk management and value
26. Experience in process, risk and controls design
27. Experience of delivering large scale SAP ECC and S/4 HANA finance and tax transformation implementations
28. Able to understand key tax requirements translate those into SAP system design specifications
29. Practical knowledge and understanding of implementing SAP global tax management solutions like Tax compliance, Document Reporting and Compliance
30. Should be able to suggest practical solutions for setting up intercompany billing processes to support operational transfer pricing requirements
31. Should have an understanding of GL accounting, financial close and material ledgers
32. Preferably have an understanding of SAP Profitability and Performance Analysis (PaPM) module to implement tax use cases
33. Must have experience of reviewing the SAP native tax configurations and suggesting any improvements and remedial plans
34. Strong and practical ERP finance and tax experience of configuring SAP S4 HANA
Tax Transformation
35. Experience in designing tax transformation and technology roadmaps and translating into a transformation program
36. Ability to support tax transformation workshops - identifying and prioritizing key pain points, developing and supporting the implementation of technology roadmap
37. Ability to define business requirements and translate to supporting functional/ non-functional requirement gathering and creating and reviewing design documentation, for example; BFRDs, Solution design document, architecture mapping
38. Acting as a functionality translator, being the primary liaison between technology teams and tax teams
39. Deep tax compliance, reporting and/or automation expertise
40. Tax transformation experience, including tax governance, process design and improvement
41. Strong understanding of key drivers in the tax transformation market be that BEPS Pillar 2, Making Tax Digital, E-Invoicing etc
42. Experience in support clients on business case development for transformation projects
43. Experience in managing workstreams on large scale tax change programs, coordinating across multiple project areas (op model, process design, technology implementation, architecture, project management / change management etc.)
44. Ability to undertake technology scorecard and vendor assessments, presenting findings and recommendations back to clients in a clear and defined manner
45. Awareness or experience of tax and accounting compliance processes (, Direct/Indirect tax returns, statutory accounting)
46. Designing or implementing cloud-based practical applications from a tax perspective
47. Acting as a functionality translator, being the primary liaison between technology teams and tax teams
Tax Provision Technology
48. Understanding of group tax reporting processes and experience with current state process review and design of new / updated processes for multinational groups
49. Knowledge of the third party tax provision solution market for IFRS groups and exposure to the benefits and drawbacks of the major solutions
50. Practical hands-on experience with the end-to-end implementation of at least one established third party tax provision solution, ideally Longview Tax Provision, Thomson Reuters OneSource Tax Provision or Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud; alternatively, highly experienced users / administrators of existing builds of these systems who wish to gain implementation experience will be considered
51. Experience of taking a leading role on projects involving technology implementation or change
52. Capable project manager
53. Functional knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP tax accounting, including tax consolidation
54. Awareness of drivers for change in group tax reporting processes, including the interaction between tax provision and BEPS Pillar 2
55. Experience of helping groups to build a business case for tax reporting transformation
56. Professional accounting or tax qualification and/or experience working in an in-house tax team with tax reporting responsibilities
57. Exposure to popular ERP and consolidation systems (SAP, Oracle / HFM, Workday, Dynamics 365, etc.) would be an advantage
