The Contracts Manager roles sit within the Aviation Commercial Team, which is part of the Directorate of His Majesty’s Coastguard (HM Coastguard). The Aviation Commercial Team is responsible for the procurement and in service management of all HM Coastguard’s outsourced aviation services, which provide a fleet of state-of-the-art helicopters, planes and drones for search and rescue, maritime reconnaissance, and marine pollution response. The aircraft are a vital tool for HM Coastguard as it carries out its duties in search and rescue, maritime safety and disaster and pollution response.
As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of all commercial outcomes on current and future aviation contracts, ensuring that robust processes are in place to manage supplier performance and safeguard the delivery of critical services. To do this, you will engage regularly with suppliers, MCA stakeholders and other government departments to ensure that service delivery issues are identified and resolved.
As the MCA procures new aviation contracts, you will also have the chance to contribute to major procurement programmes.

You will be undertaking a varied role where you will play an important part in the delivery of services which make a significant positive impact on the lives of people across the UK every day, saving lives, preventing pollution damage and making our seas and coastline safer.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Manage the performance of the services provided to the MCA under the aviation contracts, ensuring they continue to meet the MCA’s requirements.
* Develop effective working relationships with both service providers and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and value for money in respect of how the services are delivered.
* Provide leadership and support to a small commercial team.
* Provide research, analysis and drafting support to assist in the development of procurement documentation, contract terms and business cases.
