Mane are looking for a HV Engineer to be responsible for the design, maintenance, installation, and commissioning of high-voltage (HV) equipment for energy projects. This role ensures the reliability, safety, and optimal performance of HV systems across various power generation assets.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
Develop and design HV electrical systems for power generation projects.
Prepare technical specifications, single line diagrams (SLDs), and infrastructure layouts.
Oversee HV system integration with low voltage and auxiliary systems.
Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, grid codes, and safety protocols.
Project Management
Lead HV projects from planning through completion, overseeing installation, testing, and commissioning.
Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and field technicians to ensure timely project delivery.
Provide technical support during construction and installation, ensuring compliance with design and quality standards.
Compliance & Safety
Verify HV systems meet national and international safety and electrical standards.
Perform risk assessments and implement safety protocols for HV systems.
Maintain documentation for HV installations, modifications, and maintenance.
Continuous Improvement
Stay updated on new technologies and best practices in HV engineering and energy systems.
Identify and implement improvements to increase the efficiency, safety, and reliability of HV systems.
Qualifications
Essential
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Chartered Electrical Engineer status.
Minimum 10 years' experience in HV engineering, ideally in energy and power generation with a NERS-accredited organization.
Strong knowledge of HV systems, including transformers, switchgear, protection relays, and cabling.
Experience in designing, installing, and commissioning HV infrastructure.
Knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and grid compliance requirements.
Hands-on experience in fault-finding, testing, and maintenance of HV equipment.
Proficiency in Power System studies and report generation.
Skilled in AutoCAD, electrical design software, and other engineering tools.
Strong problem-solving abilities; effective in fast-paced environments.
Desirable
Experience with power generation/CHP/BESS/Hydrogen technologies.
