Senior Implementation Consultant– Professional Services, Indirect Tax Location: 5 Canada Square (A variable amount of travel to client site is expected (estimated at between 20%-30%). Role Summary: We are seeking a self-motivated individual with indirect tax experience to join our Professional Services team as a Senior Consultant, focusing on implementations of Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE Indirect Tax Determination technology solutions. Senior consultant will manage projects pertaining to the development and implementation of ONESOURCE Indirect Tax products. They will mentor implementation consultants and collaborate with management in ONESOURCE Engineering, Product Management, Customer Support, and Sales. They will drive process improvement and operational scaling. ONESOURCE: ONESOURCE is designed to provide tax software solutions for multinational corporations and accounting professionals. ONESOURCE solutions cover a broad range of taxes including Direct Tax Compliance and reporting, Indirect Tax determination and Compliance, Tax Planning and Workflow Management. About The Role Client service through regular, direct contact with clients, by email, telephone and face-to-face, throughout the entire project life cycle. Performs technical or functional roles on medium to large international projects, led by a Project Manager, ONESOURCE Partner, or Customer. Manage and execute implementation plans including managing project scope, directing staff resources (both internal and external), evaluating results, creating documentation of newly created processes and managing overall engagement. Can scope out a project based on business requirements and achievable benefits Recommends optimal system configuration and business processes based on industry best practices. Able to effectively facilitate meetings with project sponsors (Customer and Partner) Identifies and develops upsell opportunities within assigned customer projects Mentor implementation specialists and implementation consultants. Strong commitment to customer excellence, must have minimal to no customer escalations for services issues. Can lead technology decisions and facilitate and articulate alternatives and direction to Customer’s IT and Business Management. Key Relationships: Work with partners on professional services engagements to configure and implement ONESOURCE Indirect Tax Determination, cross-training onto ONESOURCE Indirect Tax Compliance; Engage with other teams within Thomson Reuters as appropriate to deliver end-to-end indirect tax solutions, in particular assisting sales in business development. Liaise with colleagues to assist with pre-sales activities e.g. assisting with software demonstrations or scoping/assessing new opportunities. Work with colleagues in a matrix organisation, developing key internal relationships with peers across the organisation. About You: Technical and Functional Expertise Functionally proficient with tax engine solutions AND Technically and/or functionally proficient with ERP systems such Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, NetSuite, Workday, and others. Specialized Industry knowledge required: Deep experience in Indirect Tax Law (e.g VAT, GST), Research or Consulting An understanding of end-to-end financial processes (i.e. OTC or PTP) and systems Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and experience of working with clients and project teams Experience with process analysis, design, mapping and re-engineering Experience with process/software gap analysis and resolution Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with a methodical approach to work, problem solving and troubleshooting Must be creative, innovative, and flexible, with the ability to work in a matrix environment Must possess strong cross team/group/org collaboration skills; ability to foresee and to analyse project risks, develop risk management plan and mitigate subsequent issues Must have high-powered analytical skills and the ability to understand concepts and situations that pass by many others Proficiency in Microsoft Office Education/ Certifications A bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in Tax or Accounting (e.g. ACA, ACCA, ATT, CTA) LI-KL1 What's in it For You?
