What you will do
* Working as part of the Marine design team, based in Manchester, on mechanical design aspects of marine fire suppression projects, ensuring precision and adherence to client specifications.
* Draft detailed CAD drawings and data sheets for fire protection systems tailored to the unique requirements of each project.
* Develop a variety of drawings, including mechanical and electrical layouts, schematics, P&ID's, Equipment Datasheets, and Hydraulic Calculations.
* Interpret and apply Approval Authority rules and Regulations.
* Collaborate with the Senior Design Engineer and Project Manager, offering valuable design and CAD support.
What we look for
Essential
* Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and the internal project team.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and Hydraulic Calculation package (FireCAD).
* Ability to interpret clients' technical specifications.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office packages.
* Full UK Driving License.
* Willingness to obtain SC UK MOD Security clearance.
Preferred
* HNC/HND in Engineering (Engineering Background).
* Experience in the Marine Industry.
* Previous involvement in MoD contracts.
* Background in the Fire Protection or Fire Detection industry.
