Job responsibilities Main Duties and Responsibilites 1.Lead and oversee the most effective and efficient use of skills and resources to meet the needs of local children and families in line with the Public Health England (PHE) Healthy Child Programme (HCP); commissioned Service Specification performance indicators and the strategic objectives of Tower Hamlets GP Care Group. 2.Lead on the developments of the healthy child 5-19 programme to ensure that the intended outcomes are achieved successfully, lead and deliver three of the 6 High Impact Areas of the PHE HCP. 3.Have full leadership, management and recruitment responsibility for staff in the team and provide clinical caseload management support, supervision and review, as well as line management responsibilities as prescribed in the organisational Human Resources policies. 4.Lead, manage and supervise team members to ensure successful delivery of clinical, restorative and safeguarding supervision, facilitating support and assessing of both undergraduate nurses and Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) students and preceptorship for newly qualified staff as per the National Midwifery Council (NMC) Guidance 2019. 5.To act as a strong role model, leading the development and provision of excellence in clinical practice, supporting and respecting staff to develop and strengthen practice by innovation and leading the implementation of practice and service improvement. Providing highly specialised advice in relation to the care of children and their families. 6.The post holder will ensure that all managed staff has the appropriate competencies for undertaking their respective roles, and up to date training to enable them to respond effectively to the health needs of all families and children. 7.To be responsible for all aspects of staff performance management process, through the development of individual and team objectives to ensure a consistent and coordinated approach to the delivery of commissioned activity and all HR processes (annual leave, sickness management etc ). 8.Lead and provide best practice evidence relating to safeguarding children to support and enable colleagues working with vulnerable families, Child in Need, or children subject to CP Plan. Work in partnership with Young people, children, their parents and other agencies. 9.The post holder will undertake clinical interventions, which will include health promotion to support School Nurses, community staff nurses and other members of the skill mix team as required. 10.Lead developments in cross-agency working within the localities to ensure that there is a more effective partnership with education, social care, primary care and other partners to meet the needs of vulnerable children and families. 11.Attend Partnership meetings to include Network meetings and others as delegated by the Operational Lead. 12.Work alongside the SHWS Lead to drive the service forward, updating policies and standard operating processes in alignment with EMIS templates. 13.Champion the use of EMIS record keeping system and engage in and promote the use of electronic diaries to accurately reflect the working day and enable effective allocation of caseload work within the team and locality with additional reference to risk assessment, safety, mobile and lone working policies. 14.To investigate complaints, accident reports and untoward incidents within the locality in line with THGPCG Policies and Procedures and in conjunction with the SHWS Lead and implement service improvement and recommendations for action. 15.Actively participate in Clinical audit, taking the lead as appropriate. 16.Ensure resources are used as efficiently and effectively as possible, taking into consideration allocation of staff, time management, clinical skills and equipment maintaining an effective service within the resources available. 17.Lead on the delivery of the Key Performance Indicators, providing reports in a timely way as instructed by the Operational lead. 18.Contribute to and implementation of the service delivery plan within the team, ensuring that the team members are clear on the requirements and responsive to changes.
