About the Role: Multi-Skilled Support Technician
This is a home-based role with regular travel to customer sites and to Marchant Schmidt's office and workshop in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. During your first six months, you’ll spend additional time at the office for comprehensive training on their equipment and processes.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Provide site installation support, setup, startup, and equipment servicing
* Act as the first point of contact for customer service support (online, on-site, and over the phone)
* Offer aftercare support, including fault-finding, training, spare parts, and service packages
* Workshop preparation for customer FAT and part of the ‘Prior to ship’ sign off group
* Deliver planned customer training and perform scheduled PPMs
* Administration and quiet times working from home
* Assist with workshop preparation for customer FAT and contribute to the 'Prior to Ship' sign-off group
* Support the assembly team with new machine builds during busy periods
What We’re Looking For:
Ideally a proven background as a Support Technician, Service Technician, Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or in a similar role within manufacturing. We also warmly welcome applications from ex-military engineers looking to take their careers in an exciting new direction.
* Electrical understanding for fault finding and repairs
* Mechanical understanding for fault finding and repairs
* General machine safety components for automated equipment
* Previous experience fault finding, servicing & maintaining machinery
* The ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Relevant technical certifications or qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar fields
* A UK driving licence is essential, along with a willingness to travel and stay overnight as needed
