An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer to support our New Futures Programme within the Widening Participation department. The post holder will develop and deliver the New Futures programme, leading the design of a curriculum that engages, motivates and encourages progression of young people who are, or are at risk of becoming NEET into further education, training or employment.
Additionally, you will be expected to:
1. Complete all pedagogic tasks, including the design, delivery and evaluation of a diverse range of meaningful learning activities that facilitate development of learners' person-centred targets, ensuring progression towards their chosen outcome.
2. Using prescribed templates, systems and frameworks to plan highly individualised learning programmes and track learner progress throughout, ensuring activities are meeting learners' specific needs, goals and aspirations.
3. Collaborate with internal departments and wider partners to manage the referral and transition of young people onto the New Futures programme.
4. Undertake all pedagogic work such as classroom/community based teaching (which includes workshops etc.), tutorial work and pastoral care associated with learners whose needs may be greater than that of their peers.
5. Undertake all organisational and administrative work associated with the above, preparation and marking.
You will hold a relevant teaching qualification and appropriate degree. You will also be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of person-centred practice in Education and an awareness of ALNET (Wales) Act 2018 including the IDP process. You have experience in delivering sessions that develop employability skills and individualised learning programmes.
