We are looking for a student to join us by the beginning of August 2025 for 12 months for a student placement at our Cramlington site.

The position available is within the Packaging Integrated Process Team (IPT) Engineering Team at Organon. The position is based in Cramlington, Northumberland at the Organon Manufacturing site. The Cramlington site has been a key manufacturing facility since 1975, producing over 5 billion tablets each year focusing on the production of Human Health products and has around 500 employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide day to day business assistance as well as support to specific Engineering projects.
* Develop key skills and build technical knowledge of equipment and processes involved in manufacturing of packaging products.
* Implement improvement projects and support problem solving initiatives
* Contribute to team investigations and follow up issues arising from safety incidents or customer complaints, establishing assignable causes for events and proposing appropriate actions to minimize rework and improve processes
* Participate as directed on Continuous Improvement projects to realize improvements in Safety, Quality, Supply or Cost
* Comply with the standards in our Company’s policies, procedures, guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
* Support packaging projects advised by Engineers and Line managers.
Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
As a student on placement working within our Integrated Process team you will need to comply with the following:
* Compliance with our Company’s Global Policies, Procedures and Guidelines, regulatory requirements and execute Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in the performance of day-to-day activities and all applicable job functions.
* Attending and successfully completing applicable GMP training, including training in local operating procedures
* Ensuring you are suitably trained to perform your job
* Ensuring that this training is accurately recorded in your training record
* Ensuring that your job is performed in accordance with the training and in compliance with procedures relevant to the role/activity
* Bringing to the attention of management any violation in GMPs and/or other concerns which may affect the safety, efficacy, or purity of our Company’s product.
Education & Skills:
* You will be looking to complete a 12-month placement in your third or penultimate year of study, returning to your course at the end of the placement
* Studying a degree in a related discipline (e.g. Chemical Engineering, Engineering, Technology, or equivalent qualification)
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to build relationships and trust at all levels and with diverse stakeholders.
* Excellent problem solving and innovating skills.
* Team player, learning from and helping others overcome obstacles.
* Display excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver to deadlines.

Application Process Timeline Overview:
Stage 1 – Submission of CV and Cover Letter
Candidates will be required to submit their CV and cover letter.
Stage 2 – Initial Informal Discussion (about October/November 2024)
Candidates will be selected and invited to take part in an initial informal discussion about the role, as well as an opportunity for you to find out about the company.
Stage 3 – Assessment Centre + Final Interview (November 2024)
Those candidates successful at stage 2 will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre, located on site at Cramlington. Candidates will spend a day at the facility, getting a feel for Organon as well as taking part in several activities including a site tour and a final interview.
