Technical Manager
I am looking for an experienced and driven Technical Manager to join a Residential Developer. The Technical Manager will be working on a 400+ unit new build RC Frame development in Barnet as part of a regeneration project. The Technical Manager will be in charge of leading the project from a technical standpoint whilst managing the additional stakeholders (HA/LA). The Technical Manager will be site-based with flexibility.
The developer is renowned for working on challenging and complex projects, with a great reputation for delivering high spec homes in the London area. They will offer a great platform for the Technical Manager to progress their career through training and development. This developer is financially secure with a strong land bank and pipeline of work.
Responsibilities
1. Oversee the preparation of the optimisation process through to sign off.
2. Brief, manage and drive the external consultants in the preparation and issue of production information to an agreed programme.
3. Prepare technical specifications in line with requirements determined by the Land Acquisition budget and Technical/Sales Meetings.
4. Ensure all statutory enquiries, crossovers, sewer connections are submitted and pursued for their timely return.
5. Oversee the NHBC/Building Regulations applications to approval.
6. Ensure that working drawings are in accordance with the approved Planning Scheme.
7. Preparation of Health & Safety Plans.
8. Monitor and control all production information in close liaison with the Development Estimator to ensure tight cost controls are kept and information produced in line with budget estimates.
9. Oversee preparation of Brochure Plans, Conveyance Plans and Sales Area drawings.
10. Attend site progress meetings and carry out site inspections.
11. Attend meetings at various stages of projects (Land/Technical hand-over, Project Meeting, Optimisation, Technical/Sales, Budget Meetings, etc.).
12. General liaison and coordination between other parties, both internal and external.
13. Attend Subcontractor interviews.
14. Respond to site queries and resolve Technical/Construction items that may arise.
Skills & Requirements
1. Developer or main contractor experience essential.
2. Experience of working on large multi-unit RC frame/traditional build residential projects.
3. Good/Excellent technical knowledge of both residential and commercial construction, together with a degree of flair for design.
4. The experience or the ability to understand the complexities of complex mixed-use Regeneration projects.
5. A working knowledge of Building Regulations, Code for Sustainable Homes, NHBC (or the Warranty Provider required), Party Wall Awards and associated legislation connected with the construction industry.
6. To have good interpersonal communication, meeting and management skills essential in dealing with multi-disciplined teams.
