FULL TIME - 37hrs
West Berkshire Housing First supports adults, who have high needs and histories of entrenched or repeat homelessness, providing them with a home of their own where they can regain stability, safety, and support. We work in partnership with the Council and other housing providers to deliver intensive person-centred support and accommodation choices.
Our priority is to find safe, permanent housing that’s suitable for the client. Once housing is found our dedicated team provides intensive, one to one support to enable them to maintain their accommodation and achieve their goals.

JOB PURPOSE
To lead and be part of our night team that supports our clients to keep them safe and help them achieve their goals. To provide people with homes and specialist support so they feel more valued and secure, and ready to take the next steps.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To support your team to achieve their potential through regular staff supervision, coaching, training, reflective practice and team meetings.
2. To be responsible for attendance management, performance management, quality assurance and any other staff related queries.
3. To liaise between the day and night teams to ensure consistent and effective communication.
4. To be involved in the recruitment of staff for your team.
5. To plan your team's rota, taking training and absence into account to ensure capacity within the team to support clients.
6. To supervise room clearance which may include changing bed linen, completing laundry and cleaning tasks.
7. To oversee housing management support to clients such as taking in rent, reporting maintenance issues and keeping the service clean and welcoming.
8. To assist with ensuring the service is fully operational and our clients are receiving the appropriate support.
9. To manage incidents through the on-call service, emergency services or by providing assistance.
10. To respond to emergency accommodation needs of clients.
11. To maintain clean and tidy communal areas.
12. To support clients and staff in trauma informed and psychologically informed ways.
13. To adhere to safeguarding responsibilities, following our safeguarding policy and procedure, and those of relevant local authorities, ensuring these are followed at all times.
14. To help maintain health and safety, ensuring clients, visitors and buildings are safe in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, policy and procedures.
15. To provide basic first aid assistance until help arrives (full training is provided).
16. To work confidently and efficiently when lone working.
17. To ensure accurate records on our client management system and compliance with GDPR through regular quality control checks.
18. To maintain confidentiality.
19. To carry out any other reasonable duties required in the interest of the organisation.

2. This role has financial authorisation responsibilities.
3. This role has on call responsibilities.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
1. This role will require an Enhanced with Barred List(s) disclosure and barring service check is a requirement for this role. This would be completed on appointment of the role.
2. This role will require a full drivers’ licence and access to a vehicle.
3. This role will require you to work flexibly across several sites.
4. This role will require you to work with clients on a one-to-one.
5. This role will require you to work nights and/or weekends.
6. This role will require you to lone work.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
1. Experience of working in a residential or institutional or similar.
2. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
3. Clear verbal and written English.
4. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
5. Confident and assertive manner.
6. Strong team working.
7. Ability to respond calmly to crisis.
8. Deal promptly with and effectively react to challenging situations.
9. Have an interest and genuine concern for homelessness and related issues.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
1. Experience of working in a leadership role.
2. Understanding of the complex support needs of people experiencing homelessness or those with complex needs.
3. Knowledge of voluntary and statutory agencies, housing regulations and the benefits system.
4. Understanding of risk assessment and person-centred, outcomes-based delivery.
