Job Advert: Experienced Children's Residential Support Worker (RSW)

Service: Ofsted Regulated Residential Children’s Home
An opportunity has arisen for experienced Children's Residential Support Workers (RSWs) to join a residential home that caters to children aged 6 to 17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and mild Learning Disabilities (LD). The service supports mixed-gender residents with a dedicated staff ratio of 1:1, and the home is Ofsted rated as "Good," with a goal of achieving "Outstanding."
Role Overview
RSWs will work with children in a highly supportive and safe environment, contributing to the daily care, personal development, and emotional well-being of each child. With an experienced Registered Manager boasting 17 years in the field, this role offers a structured and supportive environment for passionate and dedicated individuals.
Key Responsibilities
* Support young people in everyday tasks, activities, and their personal development.
* Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to create and maintain a safe and nurturing environment.
* Attend and support children in meetings with social services and health services.
* Ensure high standards of documentation, reporting, and recording.
* Provide 1:1 support to children with complex needs, ensuring personalised care.
Experience & Qualifications
* Experience working in a residential children’s home is essential.
* A minimum Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification is required.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to handle challenging behaviour professionally.
Working Hours, Shifts & Salary
* Full-time: 150 hours per month, averaging 10 shifts.
* Shifts: 8:00 am to 11:00 pm followed by a sleep-in from 11:00 pm to 8:00 am.
* Shift pattern: 2 on 4 off rolling rota.
* Sleep-in rate: £85.01 per shift.
* Starting salary: £30,000 per year, with opportunities for additional income through overtime.
