We are seeking an experienced Non-Executive Director with a strong background in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) roles, particularly within the gaming licensing arena.
The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the gaming sector in Malta and have a proven track record in compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic guidance and oversight on AML and compliance matters to the board of directors
* Ensure the company maintains robust AML policies, procedures, and controls in line with regulatory requirements
* Offer expert advice on regulatory changes and their impact on the company's operations
* Contribute to the development and implementation of the company's risk management framework
* Participate in board meetings and committees, offering insights on AML and compliance issues
* Review and challenge the effectiveness of the company's AML and compliance programs
* Assist in fostering relationships with regulatory bodies, including the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) and Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (FIAU)
Qualifications and Experience:
* Extensive experience as an MLRO or in a senior AML role within the gaming industry
* In-depth knowledge of Malta's gaming regulations and licensing requirements
* Proven track record in developing and implementing AML policies and procedures
* Strong understanding of the EU's Anti-Money Laundering Directives and their application in the gaming sector
* Experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing risk-based approaches to AML
* Familiarity with the MGA's licensing process and ongoing compliance requirements
* Previous board-level experience, preferably in a non-executive capacity
