We have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Manager to join The Mere Golf Resort and Spa to cover a period of maternity leave for up to 12 months. The Mere Golf Resort & Spa is a destination for business and pleasure set in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. Currently undergoing a multi-million pound refurbishment, the resort will be relaunched as Fairmont Cheshire - The Mere in Q3 of 2025 following a major programme of works. We are looking for a dynamic HR professional to be part of the pre-opening team to oversee and drive the talent and culture function for the opening. As part of the Senior Management Team, you will report into to the General Manager, who you will need to support, influence, and challenge. With many different priorities, you will need to be a highly organised, structured and action driven individual who is able to communicate well and effectively manage expectations. As a key member of the pre-opening team, you will be responsible for: Bringing the new brand and standards to life. You will manage everything from the pre-opening from talent acquisition, recruitment and onboarding to HR business partnering and training & development. Act as a sounding board for the General Manager and HOD’s offering advice and guidance on all people matters. Build relationships with the various departments across the resort and develop a good knowledge and understanding of the teams to help best advise where necessary. To manage the review and maintenance of HR policies and procedures and ensure all documentation is up to date and meets legal compliance. Develop an effective communication strategy for employees and assist in the delivery and communication of new HR initiatives. Manage the annual appraisal review and mid-term review process. Support the development and implementation of training, HR, and engagement initiatives. Manage the administration of payroll information and the annual pay review. Preparing HR activity reports like turnover, audit, and absenteeism reports. Implementation and delivery of employee engagement activities. What are we looking for? Experience of being part of a pre-opening team is preferable. The ability to influence senior colleagues and managers through a confident and knowledgeable approach of HR best practice. HR Generalist background with a solid understanding of HR best practices and the key principles of employment law. CIPD qualified is highly desirable. Previous experience in hospitality is preferred. Experience of using ATS and HRIS systems preferred, Fourth, Talos 360 and Task world are highly desirable.
