We have an exciting new role for a Legal Counsel to join our team based in Warrington. As a Legal Counsel, you will play an integral role in the Legal Team of SBR UK and Ireland. Your primary responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, including but not limited to B2B customer and supplier agreements, tender documentation, data processing agreements, NDAs and technology agreements. This varied role likely to suit a qualified solicitor with some PQE in general commercial law (previous in-house experience and/or knowledge of data protection law, Intellectual property law, employment law will be an advantage but is not essential) who is versatile and has good commercial acumen and awareness of the business operations. Responsibilities: Provide expert legal guidance and support on commercial issues within the business. Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts and agreements and support tender submissions. Willingness to develop knowledge in other legal areas e.g., data protection law. Positively contribute to the legal team, creating a professional, effective, high quality and approachable resource for the business, to facilitate a timely referral to legal of relevant issues and queries. Develop knowledge and understanding of the business to help identify any potential risks and work with the relevant parties to shape solutions that meet requirements. Conduct legal research and analysis to stay up to date with current laws and regulations and advise the business accordingly. Assist in training and guidance to other areas of the business on legal matters, promoting a culture of legal awareness and compliance Mix of home and office-based working (at SBR’s support office in Warrington), with travel as required to other UK offices. To succeed as a Legal Counsel you will bring the following skill-set and behaviours: UK qualified solicitor: with 1-4 years PQE (flexible). Demonstrable experience in a commercial contracts setting. Comfortable dealing with senior level stakeholders and operating with a level of autonomy due remote nature of the role. Pragmatic, thoughtful approach to problem-solving Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to present key messages/complex matters in a clear, concise and engaging manner. Strong communication (written and verbal), presentation and interpersonal skills.
