Job Description:
What’s the Role: Night Duty Support Worker
An important part of the staff role is to support our service users who have complex needs and help them to manage their emotions. The ability to be resilient, communicate effectively, and utilize a variety of communication tools is essential.
Our dedicated staff team supports our service users to learn and develop their independence skills, which includes tasks such as shopping, cleaning their flat, personal care, accessing the community, budgeting, and taking medication. Each staff member has something to bring to the role, and we encourage staff to use their humor and sense of fun and creativity in supporting our service users with day-to-day life.
Where You Would Work: Forest Lodge, Portadown
Forest Lodge, Portadown is a very sociable scheme where the residents enjoy going out in the community. Every day is different and tailored to facilitate the individuals’ needs and preferences. A typical day may involve accompanying residents to football matches or concerts, going on walks, playing special Olympic ten-pin bowling or golf, attending tech classes, or supervising family visits. Your role would also involve providing assistance with personal care, cooking with residents, and assisting them to learn new skills. All work completed within the scheme aims to empower the service users to become more independent.
As part of the induction, evening hours are required for a short period of 1 week so that the people we support can get to know the waking night duty before commencing their night duty role.
