Job Summary An exciting opportunity to join the DEF System Component Engineering team, working as a design engineer focusing on the current and future design and development of the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) system across the IPSD-M engine range. Additional Information - Full-time role hybrid - 3 days per week minimum on site - Up to 10% global travel. What You Will Do As a Design Engineer within the DEF system team, you will be expected to have design experience, knowledge of IC engines/ aftertreatment systems and be able to lead, plan and execute challenging tasks/projects. Tasks will include: - Execution of design work, including drawing release and concept work for DEF system components. - Create design concepts using 3D CAD (PTC Creo though experience in other CAD packages may be considered) - Planning and managing project and sub-project deliverables - Providing regular, concise and effective communication to a range of peers and stakeholders - Conducting risk assessment through effective FMEA generation on components and systems to identify and address design risks and determine validation needs. - Be responsible for meeting product and functionality requirements - working with suppliers to complete APQP and PPAP requirements. - Conduct or generate reports to support component and system design reviews - Support resolution to production, test and field issues, diagnose issues to root cause, put in place containment actions, and develop permanent corrective actions. What You Have Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles: - Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Approaches a situation or problem by defining the problem or issue and determine its significance. - Analytical Thinking: Identifies, obtains, and organises relevant data whilst recognising and prioritising the relevant required actions. - Effective Communications: Excellent communications skills and teamwork with both internal teams and external suppliers. - Technical Excellence: Previous knowledge and experience of diesel engine design and new product introduction. Basic awareness of DEF system and aftertreatment design requirements, including considerations for design of manufacture. - Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Adheres to standard troubleshooting procedures to ensure effectiveness of resolution. Top candidates may also have: - Previous knowledge and experience of diesel engine development alongside the design experience highlighted above.
