Our client is a civil engineering company specialising in infrastructure and construction projects. Due to expansion, they have an exciting opportunity for a Civils Site Manager based in Inverness.
Duties will include:
* Ensure adherence to current Environmental, Health, and Safety Regulations, and comply with the Health and Safety Policy.
* Adhere to the client's Quality Management System.
* Coordinate and manage allocated projects effectively.
* Supervise, guide, and advise trainees/apprentices diligently.
* Regularly update management on project progress, and identify potential threats and opportunities.
In addition to the above, you may be required to assist with:
* Preparing competitive tenders for new work.
* Monitoring, maintaining, and updating the Construction Phase Plan, and compiling information for the Health and Safety File in accordance with the Principal Designer's requirements.
* Completing and updating all documentation related to Health and Safety inspections and reports as required by current legislation and UBCIVILS procedures.
* Ensuring all staff work within the required timescales and quality standards, minimizing potential snagging costs.
* Correctly requisitioning materials and mechanical plant within budget and in time to meet programme requirements.
* Sourcing sufficient numbers of appropriately skilled labour to meet contract requirements.
* Assisting the Commercial Manager in preparing necessary reports as required by the Client (or representatives).
* Ensuring effective use of materials to minimize site waste and maintaining appropriate segregation arrangements on site before removal.
* Ensuring all site-generated paperwork/documentation is completed accurately and in line with company timescales and procedures, including:
* Purchase Orders
* Plant Returns
* Goods Received Sheets
* Timesheets
* Site Diary
* Monthly Site Report
* Labour Only Sub-Contractor Returns
* Staff Allocation Sheets
* Holiday Forms
Additional responsibilities include:
* Developing and maintaining good relationships with customers, their representatives (e.g., architects, engineers), and local authority staff (e.g., planning).
* Maintaining sites to reflect our client as a professional, high-quality civil engineering company.
* Regularly updating the Company Director on project progress and identifying potential threats and opportunities.
* Acting as the main contact point with the Design Team for all technical matters relating to the contract when requested.
* Providing information to the Company Director as required for reporting requirements.
* Performing any other reasonable duties as requested by any Director of the company.
Minimum Requirements: To be successful for this position, you must have at least 5 years of managerial experience within the civils sector.
