Role Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated Therapy team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality occupational therapy interventions, working with individuals experiencing a range of mental health challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual and group therapy interventions tailored to the needs of patients.
2. Develop and deliver personalised treatment plans that promote independence and well-being.
3. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and support staff.
4. Contribute to discharge planning, ensuring continuity of care and effective transition back to the community.
5. Provide education and support to patients and their families, helping them understand and manage their conditions.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
7. Manage and coordinate the implementation of individual treatment plans for occupational therapy services.
8. Respond promptly to referrals, undertaking patient assessments to identify and prioritise patient needs.
9. Ensure the effective management of more junior staff.
10. Maintain and develop close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues.
11. Lead on implementation of new services within the site.
Requirements:
1. A degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
2. Previous experience in mental health settings, preferable but not essential.
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
4. A proactive approach to continuous professional development.
5. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
