Casual Worker Location: Liverpool As we continue to diversify our programmes and portfolio, we are looking for high-calibre people to join our bank of Assessment Actors to work on an ad-hoc basis during our busy examination periods. As an Assessment Actor you will be working on a casual basis during our academic year and your main responsibility will be to conduct oral examinations in accordance with the University of Law regulations, overseeing the smooth running of assessment provisions that have been allocated to you by the Assessments Office according to pre-determined deadlines. As our Assessment Actor, you will: Prepare for and provide professional and realistic roleplay in our candidates’ oral assessments as either a “client” or another appropriate party Be capable of delivering consistent performances to the requisite standards. Thoroughly learn the roleplay scenario and character provided in advance of the assessment so that you are fully aware of the facts, understand the scenario and able to follow the detailed instructions. Always ensure the security and confidentiality of assessment papers. Attend roleplay training and briefing sessions when necessary. Report directly to the Assessments Office. We are looking for people who are/have: Experience in assessment style role play acting would be desirable. Excellent recall skills and memory and have sufficiently prepared in advance of assessment, as you will not be able to refer to the roleplay papers during the assessment so as to provide a realistic experience. Willing to work flexibly and provide professional responsive roleplay in person and online as required. A reliable and punctual work ethic. The ability and confidence to become the character and be true to the roleplay scenario Strong time keeping, as you must be mindful of the assessment time limits, and the student’s need to address assessment criteria within this. Strong improvisational skills, as you will be expected to be responsive in real time to the student questions. Hours of work will vary throughout the year according to examination scheduling and roleplay requirements. There are no guaranteed hours and Actors on our ‘available’ list will have the option to turn down offers of work. Rates of Pay London Assessment Actor (Monday to Friday) - £13.15 per hour plus 12.07% holiday pay Assessment Actor outside of London (Monday to Friday) - £12.80 per hour plus 12.07% holiday pay London Assessment Actor (Weekends & Evenings) - £17.23 per hour plus 12.07% holiday pay Assessment Actor outside of London (Weekends & Evenings) - £16.77 per hour plus 12.07% holiday pay London Assessment Actor (One Off Fee) - £13.15 per hour plus 12.07% holiday pay Assessment Actor outside of London (One Off Fee) - £12.80 per hour plus 12.07% holiday We will also pay up to £10 per day for travel/parking – reimbursed with valid receipts.
