Faculty of Health and Life Sciences
This new full-time post is available from 1 July 2025 on a permanent basis.
This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

The role
The Psychology Department at the University of Exeter seeks to appoint an outstanding Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in clinical and/or applied psychology to join our team of exceptional scientists and educators to conduct world-leading research aimed at tackling the big challenges facing mental health and wellbeing in society and educate the next generation of psychologists.
The successful candidate will join our active, large, diverse clinical psychology research group (link).
We welcome applications from any area of clinical and applied psychology, but we are particularly interested in recruiting individuals who conduct research relevant to the wider university strategy (link) and who can contribute to our new MSc Clinical Psychology.
We would also welcome applications from people who bring new methods expertise to our existing research themes and groups (link).
Successful candidates will also help us to deliver an inclusive and innovative education to our undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
About you
For a Lecturer post you will have:
* A PhD or equivalent in Psychology and have an independent, internationally-recognised research programme in a relevant active field of research.
* A strong record in attracting funding for research, or demonstrate potential to attract such funding.
* An active approach to inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary research.
* Enthusiasm for delivering high quality undergraduate programmes.
* Strong connections and funded projects with business and community partners.
* Involvement in projects which develop impact.
For Senior Lecturer, in addition to the above, you will have:
* A strong potential for research leadership.
* A track record in refereed publications and success in significant grant capture.
* Relationships with external organisations and funders/ and knowledge and experience of key sectors or business challenges.
