We recognise that our department would benefit from increased diversity and are committed to challenging our procedures to improve and sustain this along the talent pipeline. Whilst all applicants will be judged on merit alone, we particularly welcome applications from groups currently underrepresented in the workforce.
The role
The post of Lecturer in Data Science / Performance Analysis / Biomechanics reflects our commitment to enhancing our existing research expertise in human movement science within Public Health & Sport Sciences; revitalizing our education programmes with cutting-edge skills; and aligning with the university's strategic emphasis on data science. The successful candidate will contribute to extending the research profile of Public Health & Sport Sciences at Exeter, particularly in areas related or complementary to human movement science (biomechanics, performance analysis, and data analytics) as they apply to sports and exercise science.
We are seeking applicants who are actively engaged in performance analysis and biomechanics within sport and health contexts, as well as data scientists who can demonstrate the application of advanced data analytics, machine learning, and statistical modelling techniques to derive valuable insights from large-scale sports-related datasets.

2. A strong record in attracting funding for research, or demonstrate potential to attract such funding.
3. An active approach to inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary research.
4. Enthusiasm for delivering high quality undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
5. Strong connections and funded projects with business and community partners.
6. Involvement in projects which develop impact.
7. Skills and expertise that complements and/or extends that of the existing research teams in PHSS.
