We are a team of electrical engineers, software developers, analytics & consulting experts and much more working on the transformation of tomorrowâs electric grid â to become cleaner, more efficient, and more sustainable.\n\nWe are seeking Graduate Apprentice Smart Grid Engineers to join our growing Integration team based in Glasgow to help us in our mission to transform todayâs energy systems This is an exciting opportunity to learn from a team with a wealth of experience in the smart grid world, connecting new energy resources to the network.\n What Will I Learn?\n\nYou will study at the University of Strathclyde to achieve a BEng (Hons) in Engineering: Design & Manufacture through a mixture of work-based learning, distance learning and monthly day release at University.\n\nThe role\n\nAssist with designing data interfaces between SGS products and external systems\n\nPrepare system requirements, functional specifications, and test specifications\nIntegrate control and field instrumentation, measurement devices, test rigs and harnesses\n\nConfiguration, testing, and commissioning of control applications to assist in connecting more green energy to the grid\n\nSystem engineering for control and automation projects including software and hardware.\n\nProduction of project documentation e.g., Manuals, design, and test specifications etc.\n\nProvide aftersales support for projects including site visits when required\n\nAbout you\n\nYou will be keen to build a career in renewable energy technologies and passionate about creating a more sustainable future for our planet\n\nInterested in electrical engineering and using your technical skills to make a real impact\n\nYou will have a methodical approach to problems solving and have excellent written and verbal communication skills\n\nAn interest in areas such as software, testing, systems integration, control and automation What you'll need\n\n⢠Five National 5s or equivalent at grade C or above, which must include Maths and English\n⢠4 Highers at grade B or above, which must include Maths (gained in 2025)
