Our values - at our core, this is what makes us allmanhall: E veryone matters A gile and independent R eal results T hought provoking and informed H ere for the long term The Role The purpose of this Buyer role is to assume responsibility for and manage the assigned categories and related suppliers to develop them and to negotiate competitive terms in line with company buying strategy, to ensure that allmanhall remain competitive against the market. The main duties and responsibilities of this role include: Provide support to the Procurement Manager on major categories and suppliers Develop and oversee service level agreements to performance manage assigned categories and suppliers in line with company buying strategy Deliver against commercial targets or requirements Deliver ongoing benefits to the internal and external customer through supplier management and implement agreed improvement practices to deliver enhanced client satisfaction Deliver Buying team tasks to plan Delivery and management of Buying team projects to plan Action assigned cases to target Undertake report writing and analysis, turning data into insight and informative reports for key external stakeholders Support the business by providing procurement advice and development opportunities with new and existing clients Support all Buying team activity and contribute to the development of the team to improve efficiencies, effectiveness, and business growth. The candidate Essential requirements: Previous experience working within the food service/food procurement sector Demonstrate ability to negotiate with a variety of stakeholders in a fast-paced environment Confident with influencing both internal and external stakeholders Demonstrate a can-do attitude and a real desire to work with and help our clients and suppliers Show the ability to apply critical thinking aptitude Have strong computer skills, including advanced Excel Demonstrate strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) Have excellent planning, organisation, prioritisation and attention to detail abilities Be solution orientated and have a proactive methodical approach to problem solving Able to self-motivate and work with limited micro / hands-on day-to-day management Have an interest in research and markets Have previous work experience in a business environment There are no public transport links to our office, therefore holding a valid driving licence and owning (or having access to) a car or other mode of private transport is essential to be able to commute and attend ad-hoc offsite meetings Desirable requirements: Previous experience or strong understanding of food and non food categories Previous experience or strong understanding of sustainability in the food supply chain Previous experience in procurement Open to learning and displaying a growth mindset Able to constructively challenge Understanding of category management Be able to report write - influential and fluent writing skills Previous project management experience The Contract Full-time: 37 hours per week Monday to Friday 08:45 - 17:15 (with an early finish on Fridays at 16:15). Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum DOE plus 20% OTE bonus and a competitive benefits package including 33 days annual leave (incl Bank Holidays) plus an additional day of leave for each year of service up to 38 days (incl Bank Holidays), a day off for your birthday, cycle to work scheme, discounted gym membership, volunteer day leave, team socials and lots more.
