Assistant Practitioner - Respiratory Ward 11A
We are recruiting for an Assistant Practitioner who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
You will function at a higher competency level than that of other Clinical Support Workers performing identified skills required with responsibility for actively participating as part of the multidisciplinary team. You also assist the registered practitioner in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.

Main duties of the job
The Assistant Practitioner will function at a higher competency level than that of other Clinical Support Workers performing identified skills required with responsibility for actively participating as part of the multidisciplinary team.
To assist the registered practitioner in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.
You will participate in the development of others through the acquisition of the A1 NVQ Assessors award.
The Assistant Practitioner will have the skills and knowledge necessary to contribute towards the provision of providing a high standard of evidence-based care.

Person Specification
Qualifications/Training
* Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care Practice (FdSc)
* NVQ level 3 in Care
* It is essential to undertake the NVQ A1 Assessors Course and Mentorship training
* AI NVQ Assessor
Previous Experience
* Previous experience in health care undertaking a full range of clinical competencies to NVQ Level 3
Skills
* Ability to communicate in a variety of settings with patients of varying levels of understanding
* Ability to liaise with all members of the multidisciplinary team
* Ability to work on own initiative within protocols and remit of role, with minimal direction by a registered practitioner
* Ability to undertake basic aspects of assessment, planning evaluation and delivery of care
* Assessment skills and ability to problem solve
* Ability to prioritise care and organise workload
* Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
* Understanding of quality and change in the clinical setting
* Flexibility and team participation
* Committed to delivering high standards of patient care
* Basic IT skills
Knowledge
* Understanding of the requirements of the role of Associate Practitioner in the context of the Team and the Organisation
* Provide evidence of managing continuing personal development and being proactive in development of self and others.
* Risk management and Infection Control
* Knowledge of clinical observation
* Understanding of NHS issues
* Experience of supervising, training and developing clinical support workers

* Flexible approach and ability to work shift patterns as required
