We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a Psychology background to join our team in Rochdale.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will use your Psychology knowledge to support students with a range of learning and behavioural needs. You’ll work alongside teachers and support staff to ensure students receive the individual attention they need to thrive. Your understanding of cognitive, emotional, and developmental psychology will help you provide effective support, enabling students to engage with their learning and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with a range of needs
* Use psychological principles to support student behaviour and learning strategies
* Work closely with teachers to monitor and assess student progress
* Help create an inclusive, positive, and engaging classroom environment
* Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies
* Support students with emotional and social development, encouraging self-confidence and resilience
What We’re Looking For:
* A degree in Psychology (or a related field)
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students
* A genuine passion for supporting students and helping them achieve their best
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to manage behaviour effectively
* Previous experience working with young people in an educational or support role is desirable, but not essential
