In this role you will report into the Head of Finance for Group Accounting and Compliance and support 56 subsidiaries, 14 of which are based in the UK and 42 others based globally. Your role is to ensure each of these subsidiaries are registered with the appropriate company registration authority and set up correctly for banking, legal and financial compliance.
Setting up entities and ensuring appropriate tax structures are in place and that accounting policies for the group are being applied and adhered to. Among other things you will also ensure that appropriate share allocations and share price structures are in place, ensuring they are VAT registered and operating as company secretary for these subsidiaries.
You will gain insight and experience of corporate legal structures, support M&A work and integrate new contracts and acquisitions into the structure. You will also test company financial controls and ensure that the financial governance and compliance is robust.
To be successful in this role you will be a qualified Chartered Accountant trained within ICAS, ICAEW or the CAI and with your training gained in the UK. You will have a background in audit as part of your training and we are interested in people with exposure to large and complex audits or experience covering a broad exposure. Big 4 or mid-tier trained auditors are felt to be the strongest alignment for this role.
The role will involve:
1. Responsible for the Group authorisation instructions matrix and performing an annual review, you will also coordinate and lead the Agresso Controls meetings and follow up on actions.
2. Work independently to open new bank accounts as per the needs of the business (both in and out of the UK) and perform an annual review of all finance, purchasing and AP processes.
3. Be the first point of contact for any changes needed to existing finance documentation and develop a streamlined change management process, suggesting recommendations to manage gaps.
4. Establishing new companies as and when required by the business (registering new subsidiaries, VAT registration, new company checklists, bank accounts and any other related tasks).
5. Assist in the management and reporting of the Group's working capital (cashflows, inventory policies, debtors, cash analysis etc), you will also be responsible for the continual improvement.

We are looking for:
6. Chartered Accountant with training and qualifications gained in a mid-tier or Big 4 business and holding a licence issued by ACCA, ICAS, ICAEW or CAI.
7. Experienced in testing controls, writing detailed reports and of ensuing their findings are acted upon to improve governance and compliance.
8. Understanding of how to analyse accounting policies and assess fitness for business needs, you will have the ability to write and implement accounting policy.
9. You will be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail, professional curiosity, and a range of knowledge of financial standards such as IFRS and compliance standards such as SOC 2 audit.
10. Broadly competent as an auditor you will have hunger and desire to learn about corporate finance structures and have a head for improving performance.
