The role:
We are currently seeking a proactive individual to join Royal IHC Ltd based at our Port of Blyth facility. As the Lead HSE Advisor you will take the lead on the management of the company’s HSE policies and procedures, ensuring legal compliance.
You will be responsible for:
1. Providing a quality HSE service to the business ensuring the health, safety and welfare of all employees, customers and contractors in adherence to set timelines.
2. Carry out HSEQ reviews and audits.
3. Ensuring safe systems of work.
4. Promote best practice / positive safety culture within the workplace and ensure compliance with company policy / systems / legislation.
5. Organise and manage investigations and reports following accidents, serious incidents etc. and ensure that actions agreed to prevent recurrence are implemented.
Job requirements:
6. A recognised HSE qualification e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH or British Safety Council qualification at a level equivalent to NEBOSH General Certificate.
7. Experienced in a Health and Safety role or a role with exposure to the development of safety risk assessments and safe systems of work and associated controls.
8. Industry knowledge.
9. Analytical skills and the ability to interpret technical information.
10. Strong attention to deal. Proactive approach with the ability to identify potential HSE issues.
11. Excellent inter-personal/communication skills, strong relationship builder and team-player with the ability to challenge at all levels on HSE issues.
Notes
12. This role may include national and international travel.
13. Driving licence is essential.
14. Ability and willingness to work extended hours to support on-site teams during periods of testing, complex lifts etc.
15. Must have Right to Work in the UK.
